Longclaw, Sword of Jon Snow, Damascus Book Version

Price: $1,000.00

The Longclaw Damascus Book Version represents one of the most iconic weapons in fantasy literature. Inspired directly by George R.R. Martin’s description in A Song of Ice and Fire, this officially licensed collectible faithfully recreates the ancestral sword of House Mormont that ultimately became the weapon of Jon Snow.

This remarkable replica features a 39-inch Damascus steel blade forged from 1060 steel, displaying the beautiful layered pattern that evokes the legendary Valyrian steel described in the novels. The blade is paired with a cast metal crossguard finished in antique nickel plating and a grip wrapped in genuine leather for an authentic appearance worthy of a Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

At the pommel sits the unmistakable wolf’s head, a tribute to Jon Snow’s Stark heritage, complete with striking garnet eyes. The sword includes a custom silkscreened fiberboard plaque displaying the Stark direwolf and the words “Winter Is Coming,” allowing the piece to be proudly displayed in any home, office, or collection room.

This is the Second Edition of the George R.R. Martin designed Longclaw. The original edition, released in 2008 before Game of Thrones became a worldwide phenomenon, had an extremely limited production run of only 100 pieces. This second edition expands the availability while remaining highly collectible, limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide. Unlike the first edition, it does not include George R.R. Martin’s autograph.

For five centuries the Valyrian steel sword Longclaw was carried by the Lords of Bear Island in loyal service to the Starks of Winterfell. Passed from father to son through House Mormont, the sword gained a proud reputation across generations.

This long tradition came to an end when the last Lord of Bear Island, Ser Jorah Mormont, disgraced himself and fled Lord Stark’s justice. Jorah left the ancestral blade behind, and it eventually came into the possession of his father, Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

Longclaw remained hidden until a fateful night when a terrifying wight attempted to murder the Old Bear in his chambers. Jon Snow, along with his albino direwolf Ghost, saved Jeor by setting the undead creature ablaze. Though part of Jeor’s chambers burned in the struggle, the ancient blade—said to be forged in Valyria before the Doom—remained unharmed.

The original bear-head pommel and hilt were damaged by the fire and replaced at Jeor’s command with a new wolf-head pommel suited to Jon Snow. When offered the chance to rename the sword, Jon replied that wolves have claws just as bears do, and chose to keep the proud name Longclaw.

The Longclaw Damascus Book Version is a truly exceptional collector’s piece for fans of A Song of Ice and Fire and fantasy weapon enthusiasts. Featuring a striking Damascus steel blade, iconic wolf-head pommel, and official licensing tied to George R.R. Martin’s original literary vision, this limited edition sword captures the spirit of Westeros like few collectibles can. Whether displayed in a home, office, library, or dedicated collection room, Longclaw stands as a powerful symbol of honor, duty, and the Night’s Watch.
