Deepeeka US Model 1840 Cavalry Saber

The US Model 1840 Cavalry Saber was based on the design of the 1822 French Hussar Saber and was chosen for US replication after soldiers preferred the French saber over British and Prussian examples during performance testing. It was commonly referred to as the "Old Wristbreaker" due to its weight and design. While many of these sabers had blades made in the US, a significant number of blades were imported from Germany to meet the high demand during the US Civil War.

Manufacturers Marks: The base of the blade features stamped manufacturers marks recreated from the original. One side reads "U.S. ADK 1862," while the other side is marked "AMESMFGCo, Chicopee, Mass." These markings are indicative of the replica being based on an original saber crafted by the Ames manufactory in 1862.

Guard and Pommel: The guard and pommel are made of brass, providing both functionality and aesthetics.

Grip: The grip is wrapped in tight black leather, providing a secure and comfortable hold during use. It is finished with twisted brass wire inlay, adding to the saber's appearance.
