Victorian Life Guards Officer Sword

This reproduction of the British Life Guards Officers sword has a tempered blade of high carbon steel and the blade is richly detailed in the etched symbols of British regalia and the British Royal Household Cavalry. At the base of the blade on a single side is the inset brass proof mark.The guard is steel with a brass royal cypher and brass studded embellishments. The backplate and pommel are crafted from steel and the wood grip is overlaid in leather with twisted steel wire. Included with the sword is a steel scabbard with brass accents and brass hanging rings.

First adopted in 1872, this Victorian era sword was a modified version of the 1834 pattern sword and it continues to see use today as the official state dress sword of the Life Guard regiments.
