The Sallet was a light helmet either fitted with a visor or open faced with a tail to protect the neck. Visors were a late addition to the medieval helmet and their adoption avoided the necessity for the man-at-arms to choose between protection or visibility. Our Jaw Bone Visor Sallet Helmet, crafted in 14 gauge steel provides a full field view with the visor raised and excellent face protection with the visor lowered. Full leather liner and chin strap.
