The Great Helm was developed over the course of the 13th century. This reconstruction replicates the Pembroke helmet, made late in the period and dating from around 1300, now in the Burrell Collection Glasgow. This style of helm was often worn in conjunction with a smaller, lighter helmet, the Secret (see our Secret Helm 29-AB0372). Crafted in 14 Ga. 2mm steel and fully padded, this helm provides excellent head protection for the full contact re-enactor. This Great Helm Fully functional and battle ready medieval helmet.
