The neighboring Kouga and Iga clans of feudal Japan were bitter enemies for centuries and their warring Ninja families have been immortalized in Japanese literature. To commemo- rate these secretive warriors we have introduced our Kouga and Iga Ninja-To.
The dismountable double-pegged Tsuka of the Iga Ninja-To features a traditional wrap over natural rayskin and Clouds and Sun/Water and Moon Menuki. The blackened iron fittings include a Tsuba displaying the Iga Mon and a wave motif, both repeated on the Fuchi/Kashira. The Saya features a partial rattan wrap and a heavily reinforced spike. The Iga features a forged high carbon blade, differentially quenched to an edge hardness of 60HRc. Essential tool for the Ninjutsu practitioner. The Iga Ninja-to is a functional battle ready Ninja Sword.
