French Cadet Sword with Brass grip, brass pommel and guard. The French Cadet Sword is a very rare weapon, designed by French master Jacques Louis David for the Ecole de Mars, Robespierre's revolutionary military academy which endured for less than a year in 1794.
Short, double-edged blade with central ridge and obtuse tip. Ornate guard with long brass-tipped quillons and knucklebow. Grip made of brass with imbricated feather motif overall. 1794.
