Clothing styles changed in the 15th century from longer tunics to shorter doublets. Hosen or leggings were made even tighter and began to be attached rather than having two separate legs. The codpiece at this time was a simple flap for convenience and was pointed or tied to the hose. Linen was the most common fabric for the hosen although they were also made from wool. Our hosen are made with a linen blend and are suitable for 15th century wear. These 15th century hosen were designed to tie or "point" onto medieval braies and like the originals cut on the bias for flexibility.
