Chausses, hosen or leggings were tight form fitting leg wear worn throughout the middle Ages. Linen was the most common fabric for chausses although cotton not a popular material was available from India during this time period. Our pair of chausses made with a cotton and cotton/poly blend are suitable for 13th or 14th century wear and are much lighter and cooler than linen or wool. Designed to tie or "point" onto medieval braies and like the originals cut on the bias for flexibility and come footed. Order according to your U.S. shoe size.
