Long celebrated as the pinnacle of rapier design, the "Spanish" or "Cup Hilt" rapier undoubtedly combined style and function in a very effective-and often deadly- package in 17-century Europe. Our customers have been asking us to carry a functional cup hilt rapier that can be used for fencing, stage combat and SCA tournaments. This new rapier fits the bill with its' 37 3/4" long forged spring steel schlager blade with button safety tip! The hand forged cross guard has been expertly twisted. Comes with a leather and wire wrapped wooden grip, and a leather wrapped ricasso. The pommel and cup are both made from steel.
