Product Description
The small round shield known as the Steel Buckler remained popular from the 13th to the 17th century. Many soldiers preferred this to the full-size shield to be able to move more quickly. Also, the buckler could be hung from the sword scabbard when two hands were needed for a pike or staff weapon. So widespread was its use, that the exercise of sword and buckler became one of the most common sports of the Renaissance. Our version is hand forged and comes with leather wrapped grip and a thick felt padding for your knuckles.
