Fetter Lane Sword - 8th Century Saxon - Antiqued Brass Hilt - PRS413BR
This immaculately detailed sword recreates the fine swords available to champions, chieftains and kings of the late 8th Century and is closely based on the surviving components of the prized Fetter Lane sword which is part of the collection of the British Museum. The blade is tempered high carbon steel and the hilt is well-cast from brass and has an antiqued bronze finish; like the original it has different designs on either side of the hilt. Bands of nickel-plated steel adorn the guard and pommel to replicate tin - on original swords tin was valued as a decorative element because of its scarcity and likeness to silver in appearance. The composite pommel was riveted together in its final construction because original swords of this type had 2-part pommels which were completed by riveting a cap onto the pommel base.

Included with the sword is a wooden scabbard which is wrapped in tight leather and fitted with a bronze finished and locket; the sturdily attached wooden suspension loop enables the sword to be slung from your own belt or baldric.

The Fetter Lane 8th Century Saxon Sword Review - Deepeeka!

Scandinavian Vendel Chieftain's Sword Damascus Blade - Tin Plated - Brass Hilt Accents - PRS411D
This 8th Century Scandinavian Vendel Sword has a blade which is skillfully forged from Damascus steel and its brilliant and ripple-like patterning was created when several different steels were forged together into a single blade. Original swords of this type were usually created with pattern welded blades which, like damascus, were forged by melding together several different steels into a single blade in a process which left visible patterning on the blade surface.

The finely detailed guard and pommel of the hilt are made from quality-cast brass with a tin plated finish and these components are completed with contrasting bands of antiqued brass for contrast. Historically, tin was a prized decorative element for swords such as this due to its relative scarcity and resemblance to silver. The grip is made from hardwood and the blade is durably anchored into the hilt. Like originals, the pommel is a two-part construction created by riveting a pommel cap over the pommel base. Red enamel is inlaid into the pommel to give it a blaze of scarlet color as seen on the preserved swords of champions, nobles and chieftains.

Included with the sword is leather-bound scabbard of wood with tin-plated brass fittings and a wooden suspension loop which can be used to sling the sword from your own sword belt or baldric.

Colonial 1825 Italian Percussion Dueling Flintlock Set Non-Firing Replica
These 1825 Italian Dueling Pistols come as a set which includes the wooden box and two Flintlock pistols. This flintlock pistol set is great for re-enactment duels whether on stage or at a fair. Caplock or Percussion Lock pistols were so called because the lock system causes a percussion cap to be struck by the hammer when the trigger is pulled. Powder inside the cap ignites and this in turn ignites the main powder charge, which propels a lead ball from the barrel. Most (though not all) caplock firearms were loaded from the muzzle of the gun (muzzleloaders). The Caplock was a great improvement over the flintlock as it was less susceptible to weather-related misfires. The original of this pistol was made in Brescia, Italy in about 1825. This non-firing version is accurately detailed and shows typical Italian craftsmanship, a great costume or conversation piece.
