Our Mail Coif Butted Mild Steel, a mail hood or coif is a close fitting cap that covers the top, back, and sides of the head made from mail. Mail (also maille, and often chainmail or chain maille, is a modern usage) is a type of armour that consists of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh. Mail armour provided a highly effective defense against the weapons of the middle ages. Hand crafted from Zinc Plated Mild Steel (non-rusting) Butted chainmail rings in the European 4 in 1 mail pattern. The chainmail rings have a 9mm inner diameter and are made with tough battle ready 16 gauge Mild Steel. Available in L (up to 26" head circumference)! Specifications:
