Early Medieval Cotton Gambeson
It was always possible to drive the point of a weapon through the rings of a mail shirt or shear it with a good cut. This often drove the damaged rings deep into the wound. Even if the blow didn't cut the mail, the blunt trauma alone was enough to break bone and damage internal organs. A thick, padded garment worn under a mail shirt greatly reduced the risk of these types of injuries. Our gambeson is a type worn from the early Middle Ages well on through the Renaissance. Available in sizes M, L and XL. Hangs approximately 32" and weighs 1-1/2 lbs.  Black only, 100% cotton, hand wash.

The Fellowship of the Ring Book by J.R.R. Tolkien 27-33970-6
In The Fellowship of the Ring:  The Lord of the Rings--Part One by J.R.R. Tolkien Frodo Baggins knew the Ringwraiths were searching for him--and the Ring of Power he bore that would enable Sauran to destroy all that was good in Middle-earth. Now it was up to Frodo and his faithful servant Sam to carry the Ring to where it could be detroyed--in the very center of Sauron's dark kingdom.
The Fellowship of the Ring is the first book in the dazzling trilogy The Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien’s complete manuscript, which is longer than War and Peace, was predicted to be a financial failure when it was first published in 1954. Ironically, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have enjoyed an extended popularity and have earned their place as a favorite amongst readers of all ages.

The Fellowship of the Ring picks up where The Hobbit left off. The strange and precious Ring has taken its toll on Bilbo through the years and he decides, with help from the mysterious Gandalf, to leave it to his adopted heir and cousin, Frodo Baggins, along with his dwelling at Bag End. This sets Frodo on a collision course with Sauron, The Dark Lord himself later in the trilogy. The Fellowship of the Ring tells the story of the Ring, its departure from the Shire and its delivery into the Land of Mordor. The Fellowship consists of members of the remaining forces for good as they struggle to quell the rising darkness in Middle-earth.

The Return of the King Book by J.R.R. Tolkien 27-33973-7
In The Return of the King: The Lord of the Rings--Part Three by J.R.R. Tolkien, while the evil might of the Dark Lord Sauron swarmed out to conquer all Middle-earth, Frodo and Sam struggled deep into Mordor, seat of Sauron’s power. To defeat the Dark Lord, the accursed Ring of Power had to be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom. But the way was impossibly hard, and Frodo was weakening. Weighed down by the compulsion of the Ring he began finally to despair.

The awesome conclusion of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, beloved by millions of readers around the world.
