This peasant dress was worn extensively by both peasants and free class women during the 12th and 13th centuries. Made from a poly/cotton blend that is both durable and easy to care for. The cut is straight down to the waist and it flares at the bottom to allow freedom of movement. Includes a waist girdle of the same fabric that is tightened with cording to provide emphasis to the waist. The sleeves have elastic that gives the impression of smocking.
These dresses are large and are meant to be gathered at the waist with the girdle.
