One of the more popular forms of plate armor was the 15th Century Leather Brigandine. Mail had been around for centuries, but as swords became higher quality, mail was becoming less effective. This 15th century version was worn over a gambeson and added an extra layer of leather with metal plates and often covered by a surcoat. Our 15th century brigandine is made from quality black leather with 100's of overlapping steel scales. Each scale is riveted with the medieval trefoil pattern. Includes breast and back plates and pauldrons. Great for LARP and SCA combat. Hand clean only. Please note this custom made item may take 8 to 12 weeks to complete.
