Product Description
A Secutor was a type of Roman gladiator originating around 50 AD. Secutor or chaser was armed similarly to the Murmillo gladiator (armed like a Roman soldier), usually with a Roman gladius or dagger. The Secutor was specially trained to fight a Retiarius, (a gladiator with a trident and a net). This very distinctive helmet had two small eye-holes, to prevent a Retiarius's trident from being thrust through the face and a rounded top, so as not to get caught in the net. The secutor usually wore a loincloth, a wide belt, on his right arm, he wore a manicae (a heavy linen wrapping tied with leather tongs), and on his left leg, he wore a leather or metal greave. He also carried a the Roman scutum shield. Our Secutor Gladiator Helmet is made from 18 gauge Steel. Fully wearable.
