German Helmet Shield or Brow Plate WWI Stirnpanzer - This is a perfect reproduction of the German WWI helmet shield and will appeal to WWI military collectors and re-enactors. The ventilation lugs on each side of the world war I German helmets were used to support the optional shield, the (Stirnpanzer) which attached around the back of the helmet with a leather strap. Not popular with the troops due to the weight they were used mainly by snipers. Not many of these brow plates were originally produced making this a rare piece. Comes with leather strap and buckle. Helmet sold separately.
