Infantry troops willingly sacrificed the extra protection of closed helmets for a better view and more air. The 15th Century Sallet Helm makes an excellent reenactment or dress helmet. Constructed from 16 gauge steel.
Please note: This 15th Century Sallet Helm is an open faced helm and will not meet SCA requirements without a face guard.
