Talhoffer Sparring Buckler
The buckler was used from the 12th through the 18th centuries. It was a
small shield, 6 to 18 inches in diameter, and achieved a deserved
reputation as both a defensive and offensive arm.
Indispensable in both classical rapier play and I.33 sparring, it has become an essential part of the modern swordsman`s equipment. This GDFB "Sparring-friendly" version of the Talhoffer buckler is flat, with fluting for strength and a reinforced rim. Construction is in 16 gauge steel.
