WWII German Army Officer's Sword - Lion Head Version
This WW2 German Army Officer's Sword - Lion Head Version has a blade crafted from EN45 high carbon steel. The hilt is brass and the grip is wrapped in leather and inlaid with twisted brass wire. The scabbard is steel with steel hanging rings.

Army soldiers were allowed to wear a sword as a symbol of status. The sword was worn with the dress uniform at special occasions such as dinners, parades and weddings.

The design of the sword consisted of a ''Lion'' head pommel. The lion has red stones in the eyes. These are known as ruby eyes, even though the stones are not rubies, with a metal cover that extended as part of the hand guard, which ended into a simple cross guard.
