There isn't any doubt that the Spartan Army was one of the toughest on record. Although all of the city states of Greece valued honor, toughness, loyalty and fighting ability, the Spartans made it almost a religion, and devoted themselves to being the best of the best. We have copied a Spartan short sword taken from the book, "The Spartan Army". The Spartan Lakonian is a potent weapon that would be superb in the brutality of ancient hand-to-hand combat. The leaf shaped blade is high carbon steel. Grip is bronze, with a wooden scabbard covered in leather. A very effective close combat short sword.Blade 14 1/2" long, 2 3/8" wide. Wt. 2lbs.
