Royal Corinthian Helmet AH-6058-PR
Royal Corinthian Helm W/ Plume
Ref: AH-6058-PR
Corinthian helmets originally from Greece were carried to Greek colonies in Sicily, Italy and Spain. Traces have also been found in Celtic graves. This helmet represents a fully refined example from around 400 BC, and is finished with a blackened finish and brass ornaments. The plume is natural horsehair. The Royal Corinthian Helmet matches our AH-6071-R Royal Muscle Cuirass.
Throughout the 5th and 4th century BC, the Greek Helmet continued to evolve, still with a view to improving ventilation, hearing and vision, without sacrificing protection. The ''Chalcidian'' helmet continued to be very popular, but improved versions as shown by Deepeeka, with a cranial ridge for better protection appeared. Some pieces also had ear hinges for cheek pieces. The nasal piece also became smaller and disappeared from some of these helmets, giving rise to the ''Attic'' style of helmets.

Dan Peterson Approved
Military historian, author and museum curator, Dan Peterson has been active in the field of 'living history' for many years. The organizer of one of the largest accurate Roman reconstruction groups, and Roman Cavalry units. He and his comrades are much more than 're- enactors': authentically armoured and equipped, eating authentic rations, sleeping in reconstructed tents, rigorous marches, training and battle simulations, they are true 'experimental archaeologists' Dan is best known for his work- "The Roman Legions".
