Late Roman Infantry Helmet Ref: AH-6714 Intercisa II. Steel with leather interior. This unique helmet is an example of the Roman Army "recycling" older equipment to be more uniform and compatible with the latest styles. Originally, this was a 3rd C. Roman Cavalry helmet, which was probably cut down in the 4th C. to be more uniform with the "ridge helmets" like the Intercissa model helmets offered by Deepeeka. The original example of this helmet is now in the Archeological museum of Florence, Italy. The original version was made in Brass, however, we also offer this helmet in iron, as shown, because many of the 3rd C. helmets were made of this material, and they were undoubtedly converted to the ridge infantry style at the same time as the brass ones.

Intercisa I Helmet Ref: AH-6716 Steel with leather interior. This is the typical light infantry helmet, probably worn by auxiliaries instead of the legions. The original was found in a cache at the Roman fort of this name in Hungary. It seems to have been based on the similar two halves "ridge" helmets of Rome's enemy, the Sassanian Perisan empire. The eye placed on the front of the helmet are reminiscent of the eyebrows on the fronts of the Imperial Gallic Helmets, and appear to be a Roman feature, not seen on Persian helmets.
