Glastonbury Pipe Ref: TM-316
This reed instrument is based on a stone figure in Glastonbury England, which is an old place of worship, dating back to lake dwellers and Druids. The design of the instrument is based on this old mystic background. It is a good chamber instrument, and can be played outdoors. It is easy to play, having a deep soft tone.The Rosewood pipe is carved in three sections. Brass trim and key action on the highest note. 8 finger holes. The Reed mounts on the inside. Includes reed. Medieval Smallpipes Ref: BGSP
These small chamber pipes were based on the Hummelchen from drawings by Praetorius. The name Hummelchen in German means bumble bee which is a good description of their voice. They have a small straight bore or concentric chamber in the key of D and two brass mounted drones in a single stock, a narrow bell on the chanter, and a velvet cover with ivory fringe. This instrument is easy to play and is suitable for indoor and outdoor performance. 20". Made in Pakistan.
