M42 German Helmet WWII M1942 - This replica of a German WWII helmet will appeal to WWII military collectors and re-enactors. The last wartime upgrade to the standard German helmet took place in July 1942. As a measure of economy the rolled edge found on M1935 and M1940 helmets was discontinued and in August 1942 the first M1942 helmets were put into production.

Helmet colors ranged from medium to dark field gray on German Armed Forces (Wehrmacht) helmets. Occasionally, a slate gray paint finish was also used. Most helmets utilized a textured paint finish ranging from very fine to extremely course.

Made from 18 gauge steel our helmet weighs exactly the same as the original German helmet. The color matches the original gray finish and the rims are flared and not rolled. Includes accurate liner and leather chin strap. Comes in a standard Large size with a 22" (55.88cm) internal circumference.
