Our sturdy Leather Sallet Helm is made from 13-15oz hardened leather plates riveted together. The sallet was popular with fighting men all over Europe, from the Wars Of The Roses to the battles of the Reformation. This helmet was quite open in the front, yet provided ample protection for the neck. It was frequently worn with a bevor, which provided protection for the lower part of the face and improved airflow over an enclosed helmet. Popular with both the knight and the man-at-arms, bevors were worn strapped around the back of the neck. Bevor sold separately.

Perfect for LARP events, theater or Medieval venues. Wt.-1 lbs. 6 oz. Circa 1450.
