From early history, the mounted warrior strove to decorate and protect his highly prized war horse. During the European Middle Ages a horse's head armor became indispensable as the main battle tactic was a head on attack. Our Leather Horse Chamfron is made from heavy guage molded leather with stylish fluting and embellishments. This beautiful armor also makes an equally attractive wall display. No collection is complete without the chamfron which was as important as the helm, mail, plate armor, sword and shield. Face Plate-sized and shaped to fit most modern saddle breeds. Fully lined with suede leather. Comes with straps and buckles.
