A bit conservative for tights you say? Made of 100 percent cotton, these breeches would have been worn by the peasant or working class man.
They are long enough to wear with knee-high boots or wear the elastic cuffs at the top of your calf with sandals. Elastic cuffs make them comfortable to wear as you caulk a ship or reap the harvest.
A drawstring waistband allows one to feast and famine in them. Or drink a lot of meade if you like.
Ours also have secret pockets hidden in the side seams. Pockets weren't period, but are a fine detail for placing your dragon keys and talking box.
