Attic Greek Helmet

Shipping: Usually Ships within 14 Bus. Days

Guarantee: Satisfaction guaranteed, or your money back

Price: $248.00

Similar in basic shape, and evolved from the Corinthian, the Attic helmet also originated in the Attica region of Greece. With its open face and hinged cheek plates, it was less confining and offered better vision than the Corinthian. Helmets of this style were carried by Greek colonists. Often worn by Roman light infantry velites, sometimes under animal skin, this style of helm became very popular among the native Italians, and the elaborate officer versions seen in Roman sculptures and immortalized in Hollywood films are derived from this helmet.

This helmet is made of 18 gauge brass.

Military historian, author and museum curator, Dan Peterson has been active in the field of 'living history' for many years. The organizer of one of the largest accurate Roman reconstruction groups, and Roman Cavalry units. He and his comrades are much more than 're- enactors': authentically armoured and equipped, eating authentic rations, sleeping in reconstructed tents, rigorous marches, training and battle simulations, they are true 'experimental archaeologists' Dan is best known for his work- "The Roman Legions".
